We aim to help empower 10,000 teams to create their own software. Here's how we plan on doing it.
A web application consists of two parts - a database and a user interface. Stacker is a software layer that allows users to create interactive front-end interfaces to their spreadsheet databases built on Airtable, Google Sheets or many other data sources. In practice, this means you can make secure web applications that display your data to whoever you like while allowing selected users to update your database. It's an "app in a box" that you can build with no design or coding experience, as long as you have a spreadsheet.
Almost anything. Most Stacker users are looking to share particular information with particular people (teammates, customers, or broader user sets), and want to be able to protect that information by requiring selected users to log in to see it. This includes secure client & customer portals, custom CRMs, field worker apps, or other custom software that helps their business.
Software-as-a-service tools have helped untold numbers of companies and people make meaningful impacts on their businesses, but that's come with a cost. Over time, company data often ends up fragmented and siloed in different tools, making it difficult (and sometimes impossible!) to make those tools talk with each other. What's more is the "lock in" effect most SaaS tools create - a company's data often ends up holding them hostage to a particular solution that may not be the best choice for them anymore. To combat this, Stacker helps you wrangle back control over your data by working directly with your owned databases. We also plug into many services you are already using to help create a single source of data truth within your organization.
Because app development is expensive and time consuming if you have development resources at your disposal, and next to impossible if you don't. Stacker apps work perfectly for use cases when you can't justify custom development costs, you need something done quickly, or you want control over what you're building
Yes, Stacker is free to build for as long as you like. There is no trial expiration for the apps that you create. You only need to subscribe to Stacker to launch your app to your users.
