Lance Hopkins

Director/City Engineer

The government organization for the City of Lander, a town in Wyoming, uses Stacker as a central location for their towns information. Stacker is used for day-to-day functions, from City hall all the way to their volunteer fire department. This includes 15 apps, over 50 employees, and 91 different security roles within their workspace, Stacker is the backbone of the City of Lander operations.

City of Lander needed a way to work more efficiently, provide easy access to all staff and follow status updates on various projects. Lance, the Public works director/engineer, tells us how using Stacker has provided a place for information to live and be tracked. Before Stacker it was a long process and could cause issues if papers were to go missing. So they turned to Stacker, a place to present information clearly.

"Before Stacker, purchase orders were all paper, they were printed and passed from desk to desk. It was hard to find information, it could be lost or in a binder somewhere no one could ever find again".

Director/City Engineer

The City of Lander continued to find new ways to become more efficient. Lance tells the story of adopting Stacker for their vehicle maintenance tracking. Lance says, "The mechanic did not want any technology, but then he saw how easy Stacker is and now prefers the platform!" A work order request is submitted through the app to the mechanic which signals that work needs to be done on it. The order is linked to a specific vehicle allowing anyone to track the status of the vehicle, when it was last worked on or check on what it costs to maintain. This allows for efficient processes and more accurate reporting on cost of assets.

Lance spoke to the key factors for bringing on Stacker including increased efficiency and creating transparency. "The investment in a more efficient process helps us to focus on other things for the future of Lander", Lance says. Stacker provides The City of Lander with deeper insight across departments and allows more time to improve infrastructure moving forward.
